We are seeking a proactive and talented Manufacturing Support Engineer to join our clients Engineering team. In this role, you will be crucial in developing products and supply chains that deliver excellent customer service. You will use your expertise in automation, Lean principles, and continuous improvement to design and implement efficient manufacturing processes while maximising profit potential.

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: 35000

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-1pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes for new products as part of the product introduction process.

  • Developing alternative production methods for components using automation and Lean techniques.

  • Designing manufacturing systems and facilities to meet production requirements for Quality, Cost, and Delivery.

  • Performing value engineering on products and processes to reduce costs.

  • Designing layouts, fixtures, tooling, and materials handling equipment to improve delivery and cost-efficiency.

  • Creating drawings and concepts using CAD packages and Microsoft Windows.

Training for some of these skills can be provided due to it being a junior role.

To succeed in this role, you should be a disciplined, improvement-focused individual with a passion for engineering. We are looking for someone who is a systematic thinker and an effective communicator.



Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.

  • Apprentice trained with an ONC/HNC in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Proven ability to use CAD systems.

  • Experience using MRP systems.

  • A basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Training and experience in using standard toolroom equipment such as mills, lathes, and saws.
