Job Title: Supplier Quality Specialist (Manufacturing/Electronics).
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Contract Type: Fulltime. Mon - Fri, Fully Onsite.
Hourly Rate: Competitive
Additional Info: Contract Position, asap start, 13 months renewable.

Scope of Role

This role is based on a customer site in Cheltenham, the successful candidate will be responsible for Source Inspection AS9102 First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) reviews and our clients FAI reviews. The individual will support and report audits and assessments of suppliers' systems, processes and products, including inspections on various types of hardware and assemblies.

Knowledge and understanding of Aerospace Electronics, Inspection and some auditing skills would advantageous.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes and products to determine compliance with Boeing technical and contractual requirements
  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results
  • Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements of various technologies and commodities
  • Conducts investigations in support of rejected product, notification of escapements, notices of failure.
  • Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work
  • Monitors quality improvement initiatives at supplier; develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity


  1. Qualifications Required

Bachelor's degree and typically a minimum of 5 years or more related work experience, or a master's degree and typically 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Prior audit and quality assessments experience
  • Ability and the technical skills to perform source inspections on various types of hardware and assemblies and specifically electrical wiring assemblies and circuitry.
  • Working comprehension of the requirements of ISO9001 or AS9100 (preferred)
  • Possess knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation


Preferred Qualifications (Experience/Skills):

  • Master's degree in engineering or other technical disciplines
  • Working comprehension of the requirements of AS9102
  • Working or have worked at a company or government agency providing parts or services to the aerospace industry
  • Ability to conduct audits of suppliers' quality management system and processes to determine compliance with our clients technical and contractual requirements
  • Experience developing supplier improvement plans and strategies, providing training, and coaching
