Are you passionate about supporting children with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs (SEND)? Do you have the empathy and patience to help them overcome barriers to learning in an inclusive environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming primary school in Cheltenham as a Behaviour Support Assistant.
This friendly school is looking for a dedicated individual to support pupils across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. You will help children manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and fully engage with their learning.
Academics Ltd is seeking someone with experience or a strong interest in supporting children with behavioural challenges. You'll provide 1:1 and small group support while working closely with staff to foster positive behaviour and emotional development.

- Pay: 85 - 100 per day (depending on experience)
- Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term time only)
- Relevant experience or willingness to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with challenging behaviour and SEND, helping them regulate emotions and engage in learning
- Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to support children's progress
- Work alongside teachers and staff to maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a positive, proactive way
- Collaborate with SENCO, teachers, and parents to create and review personalised plans for each child
- Support children during lessons, breaks, and other activities to ensure their emotional well-being and safety

We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and constructively. Previous experience with children with SEND or behavioural needs is highly desirable, but we also welcome applicants with a genuine passion for helping children and a commitment to professional growth.
