We are seeking a meticulous Payroll & Benefits Manager (Part-time, HYBRID) professional with a keen attention to detail to join a well known brand, based in Chertsey. The candidate will bring a proactive approach to managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

HYBRID: 1-2 days per week in the office.

Description

Payroll & Benefits Manager (Part-time, HYBRID):

Payroll (circa 200 staff, IRIS Cascade):

  • Full end-to-end monthly payroll processing

  • Manage disbursements (HMRC, court orders, pensions)

  • Handle payroll changes, queries & family leave calculations

  • Year-end tasks (P60s, P11Ds, reports), payroll compliance & audits

  • Liaise with HR & Finance, maintain Payroll Operating Manual

  • Drive process optimisation & automation

Benefits:

  • Lead annual renewals & provider engagement

  • Administer benefits, handle queries & comms

  • Benchmark offerings against market; suggest improvements

  • Ensure alignment with company growth plans

Fleet Admin (circa 60 cars):

  • Coordinate starters/leavers, renewals, and lease agreements

  • Manage licence checks, mileage reports & fuel cost recharges

  • Calculate and process car-related payroll benefits

Compliance & Advisory:

  • Ensure adherence to tax laws & audit standards

  • Keep processes and records compliant & up-to-date

  • Act as a key advisor to HR leadership on payroll/benefits matters

Profile

A successful Payroll & Benefits Manager (Part-time, HYBRID) should be:

  • UK Payroll Expert - Proven experience managing end-to-end UK payroll with full compliance

  • HRIS-Savvy - Strong hands-on knowledge of systems like IRIS Cascade (NOT ESSENTIAL); system implementation experience is also a plus but not required.

  • Commercial & Strategic - Understands the business impact of payroll/benefits; thinks beyond the numbers

  • Process Improver - Tech-focused with a drive for automation and efficiency

  • Employee-Focused - Delivers great service and resolves queries with care and clarity

  • Compliance Confident - Up to date with UK tax laws, pensions, and payroll best practices

  • Collaborative - Team player who aligns people, processes, and systems in fast-paced settings

  • Excel User - Comfortable with large data sets, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.
