We are seeking a Commercial Administrator to join a well-established principal contractor, delivering projects to affordable housing providers, educational institutions, and commercial businesses across the South East.

This is a busy, in-house role based at their Chesham head office, ideal for someone with 2-3 years office administration experience, strong Excel skills, and a genuine interest in the construction industry.

We are particularly keen to hear from ambitious candidates who want to progress into an Assistant Quantity Surveyor position. Full training and support will be provided through a structured development programme to help you take the next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Log incoming client orders in Excel-based trackers.

  • Issue instructions to operatives, subcontractors, and site teams.

  • Process and formalise variations between the site team and client.

  • Compile and agree final accounts with clients, liaising with accounts for invoicing.

  • Agree subcontractor final accounts and issue payment notices.

  • Run weekly works-in-progress reports.

  • Support the QS team in preparing monthly reports and forecasts for senior management.

About You

  • 2-3 years experience in an office administration role.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other office applications.

  • Highly organised, accurate, and detail-oriented.

  • Excellent communication skills and professional manner.

  • Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Interest in the construction industry and career development.
