About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a committed SEN Teacher to join a well-regarded specialist school in Chesham this September. This full-time role suits an experienced and passionate educator dedicated to supporting children and young people with autism and related needs, including speech, language, sensory challenges, and behavioural regulation.
You will work in a calm, structured environment with small class sizes and excellent staff-to-student ratios, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The school prioritises personalised learning approaches that empower students to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver tailored lessons for pupils with complex needs, focusing primarily on autism

Create predictable routines and use visual aids to enhance learning and communication

Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide comprehensive support

Monitor and report student progress against EHCP outcomes and individual targets

Implement evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation and foster independence

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment

Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s broader growth
About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably within specialist or alternative settings

Solid understanding of autism and associated needs

Patient, resilient, and nurturing teaching style

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
