Are you a Structural Engineer with experience working on existing buildings and looking for a stable, long-term role? Do you want to join a business with a relaxed, supportive culture where progression is based on merit and technical development is actively encouraged?

The consultancy provides in-house building surveying alongside civil and structural engineering services, working predominantly across residential and public-sector projects. Their work includes subsidence, remedial and emergency works, structural defects, and refurbishments, as well as occasional new-build developments. With a long-standing client base including housing associations, local authorities, and private clients, they offer a steady and varied workload.

You will be involved in assessing existing structures, diagnosing defects, specifying remedial works, and producing structural designs and calculations. The role also includes site inspections, measured surveys, drawing production, and direct client liaison, offering a broad and technically engaging position.

Therefore, the ideal candidate will have some experience as a Structural Engineer, ideally with exposure to existing buildings or residential projects. You will be comfortable producing drawings, undertaking site visits, and communicating clearly with clients and colleagues.

This consultancy has a strong track record of developing engineers, with clear progression routes from Engineer through to Senior and Associate level. The Role:

  • Assess and analyse defects in existing buildings
  • Specify and design remedial solutions for structural failures
  • Develop structural schemes for new-build projects where required
  • Based out of their office in Chessington, with occasional site travel

The Person:

  • Previous experience as a Structural Engineer
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Experience working on existing buildings or residential projects
  • Full UK drivers license and vehicle
