Role Profile

Cast UK have partnered with a rapidly expanding distributor in the Chessington area to recruit a passionate and experienced Transport Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic business at a key stage of its growth journey, with real scope to make an impact and shape the future of their transport operations.

You'll be leading a busy transport function, ensuring efficient delivery schedules, full compliance with transport legislation, and the highest levels of service for a growing customer base. Working closely with the wider operations team, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling up transport operations in line with business demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the transport team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Manage driver compliance, routing, scheduling and cost control
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing schedules and legal requirements
  • Drive performance through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and health & safety protocols
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure operational excellence

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a transport management role (ideally within a distribution or logistics environment)
  • CPC qualification desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • A hands-on, proactive approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
