Cast UK have partnered with a rapidly expanding distributor in the Chessington area to recruit a passionate and experienced Transport Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic business at a key stage of its growth journey, with real scope to make an impact and shape the future of their transport operations.
You'll be leading a busy transport function, ensuring efficient delivery schedules, full compliance with transport legislation, and the highest levels of service for a growing customer base. Working closely with the wider operations team, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling up transport operations in line with business demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the transport team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Manage driver compliance, routing, scheduling and cost control
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing schedules and legal requirements
- Drive performance through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and health & safety protocols
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure operational excellence
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a transport management role (ideally within a distribution or logistics environment)
- CPC qualification desirable but not essential
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- A hands-on, proactive approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
