Management Accountant

Chester - up to £47,000 DOE

I am delighted to be partnered with a specialist services firm based in Chester as they search for a Management Accountant to join their finance team. You will be joining an established organisation and an award-winning finance function.

As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the monthly reporting cycle and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. You'll control the preparation of management accounts and carry out key reconciliations, including balance sheet, cost and revenue reconciliations to oversee the P&L.

Key duties:

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of detailed monthly management accounts, financial analysis, and performance reporting for senior leadership.
  • Drive the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Provide high-level financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Oversee cost control initiatives, margin analysis, and profitability assessments across business units.
  • Manage and mentor junior finance staff, ensuring high-quality output and professional development.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with accounting standards, and continuous process improvements across reporting functions.

About you:

  • Ideally a fully-qualified Accountant, though QBE/part-qual can be considered
  • Advanced level on Excel
  • Experience creating full monthly management packs and supporting with audit
