Year-End Financial Reporting Accountant - 5-Month ContractLocation: Chester (Hybrid Working)Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (DOE)Contract Length: 5 MonthsStart Date: ASAP A well-established and rapidly growing organisation based in Chester is seeking a technically strong, dynamic Year-End Financial Reporting Accountant to join their high-performing finance team on a 5-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to make a real impact during a critical period for the business. The Role:The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance team with all aspects of the year-end process. They will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards and supporting external audit requirements. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts in compliance with IFRS or UK GAAP
  • Liaising with external auditors and managing audit queries
  • Ensuring all year-end adjustments, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions, are accurately recorded
  • Preparing consolidated financial statements for the group
  • Supporting internal stakeholders with financial analysis and reporting
  • Reviewing and improving internal financial controls and reporting processes
  • Assisting in the production of board packs and commentary on year-end results

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a similar financial reporting or year-end
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP
  • Confident, proactive, and able to hit the ground running
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Available to start at short notice
