This role sits within a fast-paced Supply Chain function and offers the chance to be at the heart of the action - supporting financial performance, logistics efficiency, and data accuracy across a nationwide operation.

Description

You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting and cost control across the business's 3rd party logistics and internal transport operations. As the Part Time Assistant Accountant your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring fuel usage, vehicle fleet data, and depot mileage to support smarter decisions and cost efficiency

  • Validating 3rd party logistics data and updating financial and performance systems

  • Supporting weekly cost reporting and helping prepare period accounts, budgets, and balance sheet reviews

  • Working closely with finance and depot teams to challenge and improve financial performance metrics

  • Ensuring data is accurately captured, stored, and updated in line with internal systems and requirements

This is a varied role that would suit someone methodical, curious, and confident in handling data, with a strong interest in both logistics and finance.

Profile

The successful Part Time Assistant Accountant will have:

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Familiarity with SAP or similar financial/accounting systems

  • Strong attention to detail and a questioning mindset

  • Experience working to deadlines and managing multiple data inputs

  • Confident communication with both internal teams and external providers

  • Bonus: exposure to databases/SQL and/or a background in logistics or accounting
