EC&I Design Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a EC&I Design Engineer interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located near Chester.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed EC&I designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Specify and select electrical equipment, control panels, instruments, and cabling systems.
• Prepare control philosophies, loop diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and HVAC teams to ensure full system integration.
• Support design reviews, hazard assessments, and commissioning preparation.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and handover stages.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in EC&I design for industrial, manufacturing, or process environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical and control design standards (BS EN, IEC, IET).
• Competent with design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
