Are you a strategic, hands-on IT leader ready to drive digital transformation in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational setting? We're recruiting for an experienced IT Director / Head of IT to lead a dynamic IT function and shape the future of technology within a growing manufacturing business.

This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on both strategic thinking and operational execution - someone who can inspire teams, manage complexity, and deliver real business impact through technology.

Description

  • Lead a hybrid IT team of internal staff and external partners, ensuring seamless delivery and collaboration.
  • Define and execute IT strategy aligned with business goals, with a strong focus on cybersecurity, data, and automation.
  • Oversee critical IT operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment - ensuring uptime and reliability.
  • Act as the final escalation point - stepping in hands-on when needed.
  • Own and manage the IT budget, delivering value and cost control at a P&L level.
  • Play a key role in major projects, including a new ERP system implementation.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You'll also take on the role of Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with GDPR/UK GDPR and leading on data governance, risk management, and regulatory communication.

Profile

  • Proven experience in senior IT leadership within a fast-paced, always-on environment (manufacturing or FMCG preferred).
  • A passion for technology as a business enabler - especially in security, data, and automation.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills - able to engage both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing external IT vendors, contracts, and SLAs.
  • A track record of delivering major digital transformation initiatives.
  • Commercial acumen with budget and P&L ownership.
  • Calm, decisive, and effective under pressure.

Job Offer
