Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and review health & safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure permit applications comply with site zones, British standards, and environmental regulations along with site risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation and industry standards.
- Coordinate with health and safety team, construction team, and other departments to facilitate the permit approval process
- Collaborate with different departments to promote a safe working environment.
- Keep up to date with new health & safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain records of inspections, audits, and safety compliance reports.
- Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
- Support the development of emergency response and evacuation procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma/NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- NEBOSH/IOSH/ certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven experience in a health & safety advisory role along with permitting procedures.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and ability to work with multiple contractors.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and audits effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in large scale industrial construction.
- Ability to work with contractors and other key members of staff.
- First Aid or Fire Safety certification is an advantage.
- Up to date CSCS card.
- Right to Work in the UK
