Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and review health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure permit applications comply with site zones, British standards, and environmental regulations along with site risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with health and safety team, construction team, and other departments to facilitate the permit approval process
  • Collaborate with different departments to promote a safe working environment.
  • Keep up to date with new health & safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Maintain records of inspections, audits, and safety compliance reports.
  • Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
  • Support the development of emergency response and evacuation procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma/NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH/ certification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a health & safety advisory role along with permitting procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work with multiple contractors.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and audits effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in large scale industrial construction.
  • Ability to work with contractors and other key members of staff.
  • First Aid or Fire Safety certification is an advantage.
  • Up to date CSCS card.
  • Right to Work in the UK
