Our Client, Urenco; trusted, long-term supplier to the nuclear industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services, are looking for a Project Quality Manager on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst near Chester. In this contract position, you will play an important role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our projects. You will coordinate and guide a team of quality professionals, overseeing their day-to-day activities and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Rate: £65-75 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

The Project Quality Manager shall:

  • Report to the Team Lead Project Quality Manager, providing updates on team performance and project status
  • Coordination of Quality Engineers and Quality Control Inspectors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
  • Supporting assigned projects at Urenco on all quality matters
  • Ensuring all project quality documents are rightfully in place for the assigned project(s)
  • Promote a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging innovation and problem-solving
  • Lead Quality Assurance and Control on a specific project
  • Ensure the effective performance of all project quality activities against the compliance requirements of project specifications and standards
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Promote project quality and safety awareness and developing a ‘Right First Time’ culture throughout the project
  • Take part in License Condition compliance audits, when applicable
  • Undertake corrective actions when required to maintain or improve compliance and best practice
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback to internal departments
  • Review and advice on supplier and contractor documents as required
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear industry regulations, standards, and best practices, coach departments where needed in the proper use
  • Implement quality metrics and performance indicators to measure project progress and success


Vocational Qualifications

  • Technical Background (areas: Electrical, mechanical, systems or instrumental)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field preferred (e.g. Technical Process Management, Quality Management)
  • Experienced in leading Quality programmes in projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO, ASTM, DIN, BSI and other international standards
  • Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor certification preferred, with IRCA/CQI
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Traveling can be expected


Experience required

  • Experienced Project Quality Manager (five+ years’ experience within running projects, preferred in the Nuclear Industry)
  • Experienced in leading quality in major projects preferred in nuclear industry, such as new build, decommissioning
  • Experienced in coordinating a team of Quality Engineers & QC Inspectors
  • Experienced in developing and working with Quality and Inspection Plans
  • Experienced with certification processes
  • Self-motivated and driven to manage and complete assignments
  • Fluent in the English language
