My client a 150m civils contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Document Controller to join their team on a major 50m civils project in the North West.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a key role in a high-profile scheme that involves complex engineering, including trenchless crossings and tunnelling.







Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all project documentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity.

  • Maintain and update the document control system (e.g., Aconex, Viewpoint for Projects, etc.).

  • Process, distribute, and file incoming and outgoing project documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (clients, sub-contractors, and consultants) to ensure all parties are working from the latest versions of documents.

  • Monitor and track document revisions and transmittals.

  • Ensure compliance with project-specific document control procedures.







Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller on large-scale civils or construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of document control best practices and processes.

  • Experience with Aconex or similar electronic document management systems is highly desirable.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with the specific documentation requirements for complex civils works, such as tunnelling and trenchless methodologies, would be a significant advantage.
