Our Client, Urenco trusted, long-term supplier to the nuclear industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services, are looking for a Document Controller on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst near Chester. In this contract position, you will maintain configuration control and traceability of project documentation such as engineering drawings, project documents and the distribution/transmittal of internal and external correspondence. The Document Controller will be assigned to one major projects and will assume responsibility for the management of document control.
What will your day look like?
- Control all aspects of project documentation on multiple simultaneous projects, utilizing various control methods/systems.
- Prepare, operate and update Document Control procedures in line with the Company's Document Management System.
- Ensure proper document control support is given to each project.
- Produce and maintain Document Progress Reports to Project Managers / Building Owners.
- Ensure all documentation provided is as per client quality formatting requirements. Formatting may include correcting templates, fonts and style, pagination and numbering and other activities that may be required to achieve a client's documentation requirements.
- Create and maintain Document Control and correspondence folders for individual projects.
- Work in strict co-operation with the Project Manager / Building Owners to ensure project progress status integration.
- Ensure all templates used with the department conform to the company standard.
- Uploading Management System documentation to Information Management System
- Configuring the Project Folders in Documentum - summer 2023
- Ad hoc duties as required to assist the project team.
What do you need to be great at this role?
- Well-developed planning, organising and communications skills, with the ability to communicate to customers.
- Excellent understanding of IT, especially EDMS including good knowledge about common office software like Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Thorough understanding of company policy for document retention and document standards.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Business Management Systems.
- Broad knowledge of security procedures, especially those in relation to documentation classification and storage
