Senior Air Quality Consultant

Location: Chester
Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 DOE

Bring your air quality expertise to a respected environmental consultancy with a thriving Chester office. We're looking for a Senior Air Quality Consultant to lead technically robust work, support sustainable development, and help shape our growing presence across the North West and beyond.



The Opportunity

You'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects-covering assessments, dispersion modelling and regulatory compliance-while working closely with developers, planners, and local authorities. This senior role combines hands-on technical delivery with client leadership, team mentoring, and business development.



What You'll Do

  • Lead and deliver complex air quality projects from scoping to submission.

  • Undertake and QA detailed dispersion modelling (ADMS/AERMOD) and technical reviews.

  • Produce clear, defensible reports, ES chapters, and client presentations.

  • Build trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.

  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues within the Chester team.

  • Contribute to proposals, fee estimates, and wider business development.



About You

  • 6-10 years' experience in air quality consultancy or a regulatory environment.

  • Proficient in ADMS and AERMOD, with strong knowledge of IAQM/EPUK guidance.

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or related discipline.

  • Chartered (CEnv/IAQM) or working towards professional accreditation (preferred).

  • Strong communicator with proven leadership and project management skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.
