Michael Page are working on a fantastic opportunity with a fast-moving, hospitality-led business in Chester that's at an exciting point in its growth. They've recently established a new Commercial Finance function, and this role sits right at the centre of it - ideal for someone looking to step into a commercially-facing finance role that blends analysis, business partnering, and strategic insight.

This is more than just a reporting role. As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you'll play a key part in shaping how the business makes decisions - from operational performance to long-term planning. Working closely with the FP&A Manager, you'll deliver trading insights, forecast trends, and support senior stakeholders across multiple teams.

Your work will directly impact strategy. This is a business where finance has a seat at the table and where your ideas will be welcomed - not just your spreadsheets.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Commercial Finance Analyst includes:

  • Interpreting daily and weekly performance data to provide actionable insights to the leadership team
  • Supporting monthly reporting cycles and creating clear, concise KPI decks for senior stakeholders
  • Designing and building tailored analysis to inform commercial decisions across the organisation
  • Contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes, working cross-functionally to ensure accuracy and alignment
  • Delivering high-quality ad hoc analysis to support both strategic and operational projects

Profile

The successful Commercial Finance Analyst should have:

  • Strong analytical grounding, with advanced Excel skills and a solid grasp of financial modelling
  • Excellent communication - confident presenting findings to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling way
  • A proactive mindset - someone who enjoys solving problems and can work independently when needed
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment (prior hospitality or multi-site sector experience would be a bonus)
  • Part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
