Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased)Location: Deeside, Wales, UKRemuneration: £38,000+ DOEContract Details: Permanent Mon - Fri (37.5 hours) Shift Pattern: Includes additional On Call Over Time hours

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the office, depot, and associated facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance across various systems.
  • Monitor and maintain large industrial ammonia refrigeration plants for optimal performance.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and utilise CMMS for regular maintenance tracking.
  • Perform mandatory checks, including general & emergency lighting, legionella, refrigeration plants, and more.
  • Oversee building management systems with a focus on Trend.
  • Manage stock levels to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Install new plant and equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct plumbing and drainage maintenance, inspect pallet racking, and manage electrical testing.
  • Support R&D for ongoing projects, ensuring best practises are followed.

Finance and Contract Management:

  • Assist the facilities manager in fulfilling all contractual obligations smoothly.
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance remain within budget, flagging any anticipated costs.

Technical and Interpersonal Skills Needed For This Role:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with current health and safety legislation, including electricity at work and legionnaires disease controls.
  • Ability to make informed maintenance decisions and evaluate technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
  • A logical thinker and problem solver with a self-driven approach.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced team culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in a maintenance or installation background.
  • Trade apprenticeship or equivalent education (GCSE in Maths, English, and Science).
  • O.N.C. or C&G Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Proven fault-finding abilities with strong mechanical/electrical skills, ideally electrically biassed.
  • Full clean driving licence required.

Preferable Qualifications:

  • C&G 2079 F Gas and ODS Regulations.
  • BS EN 378:2008 and BS 7671 18th Edition regulations.
  • Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391) or equivalent.
  • C&G 2377-77 EET/PAT Testing or equivalent.
  • Counterbalance FLT licence, IPAF 3a/3b, PASMA certifications.
