The Opportunity:

A highly respected and forward-thinking law firm in Chester is seeking a talented Paralegal to join their reputable Wills, Trusts & Tax (WTT) team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong interest in private client work, particularly in the administration of taxable estates and trusts.

This role is ideal for candidates with some prior legal or financial experience, particularly those who understand tax and trusts. However, individuals with strong transferable skills and a proactive attitude are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration and management of estates and trusts, particularly those involving complex tax matters
  • Provide essential support to solicitors and fee earners in all aspects of private client work
  • Draft documents, liaise with clients, and ensure all matters are handled with discretion and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with deadlines and procedures
  • Deliver outstanding client service and act as a trusted point of contact throughout the legal process

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal is desirable but not essential
  • Solid understanding of trusts and tax matters - experience from a legal or financial setting is advantageous
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

The Private Client team has an excellent reputation and is ranked in leading legal directories, known for delivering expert advice to high-net-worth individuals. Their focus includes inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, the creation and management of trusts, and drafting tax-efficient wills.

You'll be working under the guidance of a nationally recognised department head with deep expertise in wills, estate planning, and international assets.
