We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative Food and Nutrition Teacher to join our secondary school team in Chester. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop essential life skills, a strong understanding of nutrition, and a passion for food technology. You will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students to achieve their full potential in both practical and theoretical elements of the subject.
Key Responsibilities-
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Food and Nutrition, following the national curriculum.

Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, including practical assessments and written exams.

Manage a well-equipped food technology room, ensuring all health and safety regulations are met.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated support.
-
Encourage creativity, independence, and teamwork in practical cooking activities.
-
Promote healthy eating, sustainability, and food awareness across the school community.

Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular activities related to food and wellbeing.

Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to support student learning.
Essential:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
A degree in Food and Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related field
-
Experience teaching Food and Nutrition at KS3 and KS4
-
Strong classroom management skills
-
A passion for teaching and inspiring young people

Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable:

Experience with GCSE or vocational food qualifications

First aid and food hygiene certification
-
Knowledge of current trends in food education and health promotion

Ability to run or support extra-curricular cooking clubs or enrichment activities
