We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to work with our fantastic schools around Chester. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children by supporting positive behaviour, building strong relationships, and helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Academics work with amazing schools and nurseries throughout Chester, the Wirral and North West, and we are always looking for great teaching and support staff, such as Behavioural Support Assistant candidates to help our schools thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with pupils who may need additional support to manage their behaviour and emotions.
  • Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and positive choices.
  • Support class teachers in creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to help children regulate their behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and outside agencies.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine desire to support children.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as patience and resilience
  • Can work as part of a team but also take initiative.
  • Has experience working with children with social, emotional, or behavioural needs (desirable but not essential).
