Ashberry Recruitment are currently looking for candidates to fulfil the role of a Housing Support Worker for our well-respected client based in Chester. The role is on an ongoing temporary basis for 2-3 months. 37.5 Hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm.
Responsibilities:
- You will be required to work across the Cheshire area supporting both young people in accommodation and out in the community.
- Manage a caseload
- Conduct weekly key working sessions
- Support young people to prepare forindependent livingand develop necessary skills
- Work closely with the social workers and the Leaving Care Team, local organisations, statutory services and support agencies
Required Experience:
- Experience of helping young people with setting up benefits, developing independent living skills and maintaining their accommodation
- Ability and commitment to work as part of a multi-agency team to ensure young people in care and who are leaving care
- Experience of working with young people who may have complex needs such as mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse and offending behaviour
This role also involves lone working and access to your own transport is essential.
