Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a successful business in Chesterfield as they look to recruit a commercially minded and analytical Commercial Accountant to join their finance team. There will be a focus on pricing strategy, analysis, and optimisation as well as the successful candidate playing a pivotal role in driving profitability through data-led pricing decisions, commercial analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.Benefits include: -

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Pricing Strategy & Analysis

    • Develop and maintain pricing models and tools that support informed commercial decision-making

    • Conduct profitability analysis across products, customers, and markets

    • Support strategic pricing reviews and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders

    • Monitor competitor pricing and market trends to inform internal strategies.

  • Commercial Business Partnering

    • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to understand commercial drivers and identify opportunities for growth.

    • Provide financial insights and challenge on commercial initiatives, bids, and contracts.

    • Support contract negotiations from a pricing and profitability perspective.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

    • Deliver monthly commercial performance reporting, highlighting variances and key drivers.

    • Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.

    • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.

  • Process Improvement & Systems

    • Enhance and streamline pricing and reporting processes.

    • Assist in the implementation and improvement of pricing systems/tools.

    • Ensure financial controls and governance are maintained around pricing decisions.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experiences: - 
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a commercial finance or management accounting role
  • Background in pricing, margin analysis, and financial modelling
  • Experience working within fast-paced, commercially driven environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders
  • Commercially astute with a proactive approach to adding value
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and capable of prioritising multiple projects.
