This is your chance to work for a cutting-edge engineering business who supply solutions to some of the world's leading high-tech manufacturers. This role will report directly to the Operations Director and forms a key part of the Engineering Team.

The successful candidate will be tasked with managing a small team of electrical and electronic design engineers. Ensuring adherence to process and effective cross departmental communication. The team of engineers take customer engineering requirements and design bespoke test solutions that are able to be manufactured within time and cost constraints. This involves the use of both commercial off-the-shelf components as well as custom designed interfaces. The role will also involve direct project work including the creation of electronic and electrical schematics, layouts, PCB layouts, general assemblies and fault finding to allow the manufacturing team to bring to life designs. This important role will provide an opportunity to design and engineer a wide range of bespoke products which allows our customers to benefit from our high quality engineered solutions. Candidates must have a history of success in similar roles, be self-motivated and have a passion for engineering and delivering projects on time.

Key requirements

Experience of managing a small electrical/electronic design team
Confident decision maker and the ability to build strong relationships
Experience Designing Test Equipment, automation or control systems.
Experience of PCB digital and analogue circuit design using Altium
Produce & maintain accurate electrical drawing packages (including schematics, Bill of Materials and wiring schedules).
Experience of System Test and Fault Finding
Electronic Design to Manufacturing Level.
Skilled using PCB design software.

Able to self-manage to confidently achieve targets.
Able to work in a multi skilled design team.
Previous experience in an electrical design role.
Possess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteria

Desirable Criteria

Experience with microcontrollers
Previous experience of working within one of the following - Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Automotive or similar industry
Proven track record of designing bespoke test equipment
