Penguin Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading environmental and engineering consultancy who are looking for a Graduate Acoustic Consultant to join their growing team in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in a supportive environment while contributing to a variety of high-profile projects across the UK.

The Role

Based in Chesterfield, you will:

  • Assist with environmental noise surveys, measurements, and data analysis.

  • Support senior consultants with acoustic modelling using tools such as CadnaA and SoundPLAN.

  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to noise impact assessments for infrastructure, transport, and industrial projects.

  • Develop knowledge of key industry standards and guidance, including BS5228, BS4142 and DMRB/CRT.

  • Undertake site visits and liaise with clients, planners, and stakeholders.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams spanning environmental, planning, and engineering disciplines.

About You

We are looking for a motivated graduate who has:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Environmental Science, Physics, or a related discipline.

  • A strong interest in environmental acoustics and noise control.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • A desire to learn, develop, and work towards professional membership of the IOA (or equivalent).

  • A full UK driving licence (advantageous but not essential).
