Help shape the future of truck part repair innovationWe are looking for an experienced and ambitious Principal Engineer to join our growing team at Remanufactured Parts Ltd. Based at our ARC Workshop in Clowne, this is a pivotal role where you’ll be part of the leadership team, helping to drive the next phase of our journey as we approach our second anniversary in July 2025.

About the RoleReporting directly to the Managing Director and Operations Director, you will oversee the development of our engineering operations, from managing the workshop and optimising stock systems to leading research and development projects. A key part of your role will be overseeing the delivery of an exciting new R&D project following the successful award of a £210,000 Innovate UK Smart Grant, focused on the repair of a specific truck part.

While we are still a small and close-knit team, we are growing steadily and have ambitious plans for the future. You’ll play a major part in shaping our systems, team, and technical capabilities from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the Workshop, planning equipment needs, budgets, and future expansion.
  • Oversee stock system management, including automation, supplier relationships, and cost negotiation.
  • Supervise and develop engineering staff, supporting training and professional growth.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding as we expand the team.
  • Take ownership of research and development projects, including the Innovate UK Smart Grant project.
  • Contribute to grant applications with technical input and support.
  • Attend regular management meetings to report on repair success rates, R&D progress, and team development.
