A services business is seeking a Tax Manager to join the team in Chesterfield.Your RoleWhile in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Developing a strategy for the tax and finance departments aligned with HMRC’s digital initiatives and other tax authorities’ strategies.
  • Identifying and implementing automation opportunities to enhance tax risk management, governance, and finance operations, aiming for cost efficiency.
  • Driving the adoption of automation solutions across tax and finance functions.
  • Optimising advisor management to balance cost-effectiveness while exploring innovative solutions.
  • Identifying and evaluating new or enhanced software, ensuring proficiency in implementation and use.
  • Providing training to the tax team on automation and software tools to enhance their skills.
  • Managing IT-related issues within the Group Tax department.
  • Collaborating with advisors to review and improve capital allowance processes, exploring alternative solutions like sampling and historical claims.
  • Supporting the corporation tax team with the property database management, running related processes until a permanent solution is found.
  • Focussing on automating corporation tax processes over the next 18 months, including supporting tax reporting and governance frameworks.
You MUST HavePlease apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Strong tax knowledge, including an understanding of digital tax topics
  • Extensive experience working within a tax management, and strategy focussed role
  • Excellent SAP knowledge, as well as additional IT skills including Excel and familiarity with automation software such as Alteryx
  • Working knowledge of tax software solutions, including software implementations
  • Relevant tax or finance qualifications
