About the Role:
Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our partnered alternative provision in Chesterfield, S40. You will make a real difference to the lives of students aged 11-16 who are finding mainstream education difficult due to emotional, social, or mental health challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with students to promote positive behaviour, enhance engagement, and support their personal and academic development.


Key Responsibilities:
* Student Support: Provide tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to address behavioural challenges and support emotional well-being.
* Behaviour Management: Implement and monitor behaviour support plans, working collaboratively with teaching staff to create a positive learning environment.
* Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships that encourage students to develop resilience and self-regulation skills.
* Collaboration: Work alongside teachers, support staff, and external agencies to create and implement strategies that support student progress.


What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Proven experience working with young people with behavioural challenges, preferably within an educational or alternative provision setting.
* Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Attributes: A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a commitment to promoting the welfare and development of young people.
* Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or counselling are desirable but not essential.
