GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Chesterfield. We offer full-time opportunities to support pupils requiring extra emotional and behavioural assistance.

As an SEMH TA, your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
Assisting in the implementation of behaviour support plans and strategies.
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
Supporting social skills development and helping pupils manage emotions.
Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to progress monitoring.

Skills & Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is preferred.
Full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.
Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
