Infrastructure Engineer/Analyst:

Infrastructure Engineer/Analyst - About the role:

The Infrastructure Engineer/Analyst role will be a mix of Hybrid working and in their Chesterfield office. ( currently 3 days per week and 2 days from home) working as part of a small team, provide effective solutions to escalated technical issues, and provide a high level of technical expertise to the business. You will provide new technical solutions ( both strategic and tactical) ensuring effective working across the full range of services provided by the business and liaise with 3rd party suppliers and external contractors, and manage escalated issues logged by the service desk.

The role will involve working with technologies such as Virtualisation (VMWare), SAN, Cloud, Windows Server, AD, Exchange, Office365, PowerShell, Networking ( Meraki), Firewalls etc.

3rd Line Engineer/Analyst - Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support of multi-site technical environments including LAN, WAN, Microsoft, Meraki, Network Security, Firewalls & VPNs.
  2. Take ownership of escalated issues as 3rd line support and resolving any queries within SLA
  3. Resolution of configuration and deployment issues, ensuring management of core IT Infrastructure operations thru system monitoring and maintenance
  4. Working with VMWare, Windows Server, AD, Exchange, O365, Azure and other Microsoft technologies
  5. Ensure that 3rd party applications are installed and run efficiently across all platforms.
  6. Maintain and develop good working relationships with colleagues, other departmental members and suppliers, consultancy partners and third parties.
  7. Support their server and storage infrastructure thru on premise and cloud infrastructure.
  8. Manage identity management technologies, IaaS management tools to maximise the speed of routine tasks.
  9. Enforce client device security standards for mobile Fones, laptops, PCs & tablets.

Infrastructure Engineer/Analyst - Essential Technical Skills:

Candidates must have some exposure to most of the technologies listed below:

  • VMWare - good level of understanding
  • AD - good understanding
  • Windows Server 2008, 2012 and other technologies
  • O365, Azure, Exchange,
  • Networking - ( Meraki/ Firewalls/ Wireless, DHCP)
  • PowerShell
  • ITIL knowledge
