Manufacturing | Heavy Engineering

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with a strong foundation in rotating equipment, pumps, and bearings? Do you enjoy leading a team, driving performance and making real improvements on the shop floor? We would love to hear from you!

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer/ Maintenance Supervisor to take charge of engineering reliability and performance, reducing downtime and making the most of the plant's potential. This role is a vital cog in a 24/7 operation, with influence across the site and close collaboration with the Engineering Manager-who you will also be deputising for when required.

You will manage a team of six skilled Engineers, plan weekly maintenance schedules, oversee continuous improvement projects and take ownership of mechanical investigations and solutions. It's a challenging, rewarding role with real impact.

Requirements

  • Degree (or minimum HND) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of pumps, bearings, rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics (steam systems a plus)
  • Confident team leader and motivator, with strong organisational and planning skills
  • Skilled in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), continuous improvement and CAPEX project support
  • Flexible and dependable, able to support a 24/7 operation (on-call required)
