If you’re an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a new challenge based in Chesterfield, we have just the opportunity for you!

You will be supporting the facility in the planning and execution of all mechanical engineering tasks on a day-to-day basis. This includes setting the standards and implementing the Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PM’s), Cleaning Inspection and Lubrication (CIL’s), and maintenance tasks on maintenance shuts.

This is a days based role working 7am - 3pm and 10am to 6pm. you will also be part of an oncall rota

About the Role

The focus of this role is to maintain plant and equipment to maintain product consistency, equipment reliability, and maximise asset capability.

You will be working on dayshifts (plus on-call one week in five) reporting to the Mechanical Lead.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter include:

  • carrying out tasks in accordance with all company policies and procedures developed to reach the goal of ZERO HARM e.g., LOTO, PTW, Pre-Task Risk Assessments, etc.
  • ensuring all mechanical maintenance activities are performed on equipment in compliance with environmental and safety rules, as well as with in group procedures.
  • carrying out mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on a regular basis on machinery and equipment.
  • executing all planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • researching innovative solutions aimed at ensuring the optimal operation of production equipment and improving mechanical maintenance efficiency.
  • working flexibly with the operating teams to ensure production KPI’s can be delivered.

This Mechanical Fitter role would suit candidates with Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications, and experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer.
