Salary: £120 - £160 per day (Depending on Experience)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

GSL Education are seeking a Pastoral Officer to join a supportive SEN school setting in Chesterfield. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs.
As a Pastoral Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the personal development, attendance, and emotional wellbeing of students. Working closely with teaching and support staff, you’ll help provide a safe, nurturing environment where all pupils can thrive.
Pastoral Officer Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and pastoral support to students across the school
- Monitor attendance and punctuality, liaising with families and external agencies
- Support behaviour management plans and interventions
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families
- Safeguard the wellbeing of pupils and report concerns appropriately
- Assist in the delivery of social, emotional, and behaviour support programmes
- Promote a positive school culture that fosters resilience and respect
Job Requirements for Pastoral Officer:
- Previous experience working in a school setting as a Pastoral Officer is essential
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to emotional or behavioural challenges
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply)
