We are recruiting a senior controls engineer to join a large manufacturing business in a hands-on role, working closely with the shopfloor rather than being desk-based. You'll be tasked with managing, maintaining and improvingPLCbased control systems. Provide
backup to the on-shift engineers and be a crucial source of technical knowledge.

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in real-time fault finding, upgrades, and automation projects.

The controls engineer role is site based, working a standard 40 hour week.

As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • PLC & HMI programming using Allen Bradley systems, including modifications and upgrades

  • Control system fault finding across multiple platforms

  • Delivering automation projects end-to-end, from design through to implementation

  • Supporting and upskilling on-site shift engineers

  • HMI/SCADA development

The successful Controls Engineer will have experience in:

  • PLC system upgrades

  • Drives including AB, ABB, and Siemens

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills (Autem and IBA advantageous)

  • Clear communication with a structured, methodical approach

The Controls Engineer will be site-based.
