Assistant Quantity Surveyor | Barlborough | Full Time | £30,000 - £40,000 Per Annum depending on experience

Our client was established in 2007, initially operating as a turnkey mechanical and electrical (M&E) management contracting company. Of the original two founding board members, Charlie Strafford continues to lead the business and remains closely involved in its day-to-day operations. The leadership team has since expanded with the addition of Operations Directors Jim Watson and Andrew McCormick, alongside Commercial Director Ashley Beresford.

They have built a strong reputation for delivering complex M&E installations within demanding timeframes. The company consistently promotes the adoption of sustainable and green technologies, working closely with project teams to implement environmentally responsible solutions through a range of innovative systems and approaches.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited) or relevant industry experience
  • A full UK driving license (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise workload under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

What will your role look like?

  • Raising of Application to Clients
  • Assisting with the creation of Final Accounts
  • The creation of Forecast to complete
  • The management of Subcontractor applications and variations
  • Evaluation of variation, dayworks and applications for both labour & subcontractors
  • Capturing and raising of variation both at a site level and from drawing
  • Re-Measurement and evaluation of subcontractor works
  • Liaising with the project team on financial matters relating to contracts, performing risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Ensuring onboarding Subcontractor prequalification criteria has been supplied and T&C's are signed
