We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a thriving secondary school in Staveley. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive school environment and gain valuable classroom experience.

The Role:

We are looking for a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to supervise lessons across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4 level. You will be expected to manage a classroom, ensure pupils remain on task with the work set, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.

This is a temporary role initially, but there is potential for long-term or permanent placement for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-set lesson materials in the absence of teaching staff

  • Ensure that students stay on task and engage positively with learning

  • Manage classroom behaviour and report any incidents following school policy

  • Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to support student learning

  • Provide feedback on lesson activity and student progress

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or coaching capacity is desirable

  • Training: Basic understanding of classroom behaviour management techniques

  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities; a current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Link3

To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, candidates should demonstrate:
  • Substantial classroom experience within a secondary school setting

  • CPD training in behaviour management or classroom leadership

  • Consistent reliability and positive feedback when working with Link3 Recruitment

  • A proactive and flexible approach to covering different subjects and year groups

This role is based in Staveley, within a well-established secondary school. The school has a strong support system and is easily accessible by public transport and local routes.
