About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and innovative Science Teacher to join our forward-thinking secondary school in Chesterfield. The successful candidate will teach Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a love of learning and promote high achievement in Science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.

  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (ability to teach Biology, Chemistry, or Physics specialism at KS4 desirable).

  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and learning.

  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and enrichment opportunities.

  • Participate fully in school life, including meetings, professional development, and pastoral responsibilities.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports student wellbeing and personal growth.

About You
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • A degree in a Science-related discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science).

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for engaging young people in STEM learning.

  • Proven ability (or potential) to deliver consistently high-quality teaching.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
