GSL Education are currently recruiting for a proactive and reliable Attendance Officer to join a dedicated team at a school in Chesterfield. Attendance Officer is a full-time role, ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a passion for supporting young people’s educational engagement.

Responsibilities as an Attendance Officer:

  • Monitor, track and analyse attendance data to identify patterns and concerns.
  • Conduct home visits and liaise with families to promote regular attendance.
  • Develop and implement targeted strategies and interventions to improve attendance.
  • Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to address barriers to attendance.
  • Maintain accurate records and report data to senior leadership as required.
  • Support the wider school community in building a culture of excellent attendance.

Requirements for Attendance Officer:

  • Proven experience in an attendance, pastoral, safeguarding, or similar administrative role in education.
  • Strong analytical and data-handling skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
