HRGO Recruitment are looking for an experienced Chef to join our clients catering team. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 Food and Health and Safety Qualification and a passion for creating delicious meals.

As a Chef, you will be responsible for various tasks including cooking and reheating food, serving in the dining room, defrosting ingredients, labelling items, replenishing vending machines, vegetable preparation, date code checking and rotation, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness through 2-stage cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Reheat food items as needed while maintaining quality and food safety standards
  • Serve food to customers in the dining room and ensure a positive dining experience
  • Defrost ingredients safely and efficiently
  • Label food items accurately for storage and inventory purposes
  • Replenish vending machines with fresh and appealing snacks and beverages
  • Prepare vegetables for cooking and garnishing dishes
  • Conduct date code checking and rotation of perishable items to minimise waste
  • Follow 2-stage cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a catering or hospitality setting
  • Level 2 Food and Health and Safety Qualification
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
  • Excellent culinary skills and creativity in menu planning
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
