You will join us on part time, permanent basis. In return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £25,582 – £25,683 per annum (i.e. £15,349.20 - £15,409.80).
The Instructor/Technician in Creative Industries role:
Do you have a background in Creative and Performing Arts and are looking for that ideal part time role that fits around your other responsibilities?
Chichester College is seeking to appoint an Instructor/Technician to support the delivery of learning opportunities for students on various Dance, Drama and costume courses within the Performing Arts department.
As our Instructor/Technician, you will help support the building of props and sets for our productions held in our on-site theatre and various local venues. Recent productions include ‘Edelweiss Pirates’, ‘The Table’ and ‘Sister Act’ which were all very well received and watched by many members of the local community. You could be assisting with building anything from a jungle to a castle.
Key Responsibilities of ourInstructor/Technician in Creative Industries:
- Undertaking administration related to course requirements and provide reports and statistics as required
- Liaising with Additional Support in specific cases to ensure students get appropriate support
- Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, reviews, meetings and promotional activities, as required
- Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintainance of resources, services and housekeeping
- Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment
- Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments
- Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment and prepare replacement plans
Our ideal Instructor/Technician in Creative Industries should have the following skills and experience:
- Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
- Relevant industrial/subject experience
- Knowledge of Theatre equipment
- Competency in using the relevant tools/equipment
- The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
