TPF Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a long-established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants, who are looking to appoint a Payroll Administrator to join their expanding payroll team based in Chichester, West Sussex.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised payroll professional to take on a dynamic role, processing and managing a wide variety of client payrolls within a busy and supportive practice environment.

The Role

Working under the supervision of the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of multiple payrolls using Sage 50 Payroll, ensuring all work is completed accurately, on time, and in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing client payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis

  • Coordinating and managing all payroll routines and procedures

  • Ensuring compliance with Auto Enrolment duties and legislative changes

  • Managing HMRC and PAYE reconciliation and resolving related queries

  • Handling pension contributions and submissions to various pension schemes

  • Responding to pay queries and correcting errors where necessary

  • Completing year-end payroll processes and documentation

  • Supporting the Payroll Manager and wider team with general payroll duties

RequirementsThe Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a personable and proactive individual who thrives in a team environment and enjoys working in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in payroll is essential, and experience within a payroll bureau or working with multiple clients is highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy

  • Proficient in using computerised payroll systems; Sage 50 Payroll experience is an advantage

  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation, Auto Enrolment, and employee benefits

  • Able to manage large volumes of data to strict deadlines

  • A positive, professional, and flexible attitude with strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Microsoft Office
