Successful market-leader require Buyer Planner. Applicants need to be comfortable performing operational purchasing tasks; purchase order management, supplier management and coordination and inventory management. In time the role will become more strategic.

The Buyer Planner will join a procurement team of Buyers and Senior Buyers with responsibility for managing an assigned group of suppliers providing non-production goods/services to the business; PPE, vending, uniforms, stationary, office furniture and capital goods. With tendering and contract negotiations with this supplier base already finalized, the Buyer Planner will be responsible for largely operational procurement tasks.

Specific duties of the Buyer Planner include:

  • Management of the purchase order process
  • Materials planning and materials coordination
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Updating supplier data in MRP
  • Monitor stock and inventory levels - reordering and replenishing where appropriate
  • Support Procurement Management and Senior Buyer in achievement of procurement strategies

Buyer Planner applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role; Buyer, Materials Planner, Materials Controller, Supply Planner, Purchasing Controller
  • Experience using purchasing or material planning systems such as MRP
  • Ability to foster strong supplier relationships
  • A collaborative, pro-active self-starter
  • The potential to be responsible for more strategic procurement tasks - tendering, negotiations, contract management etc. in the future
