About the Role:
As an Engineering Inspector, you will ensure that products meet rigorous quality standards, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence. Working in a dynamic production environment, you’ll utilize your inspection expertise to uphold quality assurance processes and deliver precision-engineered components.
Key Responsibilities for the Engineering Inspector:
- Conduct thorough inspections of products and processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Analyse inspection data and prepare detailed reports on findings, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Identify non-conformities and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities for traceability and reporting purposes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies, procedures, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor production processes to ensure they adhere to guidelines, and proactively recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and product quality.
- Ensure that all inspections are carried out in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.).
- Use measuring tools and equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to perform precise inspections on metal parts and components.
Required Skills & Experience:
Our ideal Inspector will have:
- Previous experience working in a metal machining or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of machining processes and materials.
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret inspection data to identify non-conformities and resolve issues.
- Experience with inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, etc.) and reading engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing corrective actions.
Desirable:
- Certification or training in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA).
- Proficiency with quality software or data analysis tools.
