Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Chippenham (rural site - own transport required)
Salary: Up to 36,000 per annum
Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive Quality Assurance Technician to lead our internal audit programme and support our journey toward full BRCGS accreditation. This is a hands-on role within our Technical Team, working closely with Production and Engineering to ensure compliance with food safety, legal, and quality standards. You'll play a key part in maintaining audit readiness and driving a strong quality culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver the internal audit schedule against BRCGS and customer standards.
  • Conduct audits covering GMP, hygiene, traceability, and document control.
  • Prepare for and support external audits and customer visits.
  • Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and track progress.
  • Maintain QA documentation, records, and procedures to ensure accuracy and usability.
  • Validate cleaning processes and food safety controls (e.g., metal detection).
  • Collect and manage samples for microbiological and allergen testing.
  • Assist with staff training on food safety, hygiene, and compliance.

About You

  • Previous experience in QA or Technical roles within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of auditing processes, food safety, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with BRC accreditation, HACCP, and customer audits.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident with technical documentation.
  • Reliable transport to reach our rural site (including early starts).
