About the Role:

This three-bed residential home provides care for young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural needs. As a Senior Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in leading a team of support staff, ensuring high standards of care, and helping young people thrive in a safe, nurturing environment

What will your responsibilities be?

In this role, you will,

  • Support the management team in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care
  • Lead and mentor a team of Support Workers
  • Ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance (Children's Homes Regulations 2015)
  • Promote a culture of emotional warmth and trauma-informed care
  • Build strong, empathetic relationships with young people, families, and professionals
  • Participate in daily routines, activities, and reflective practice
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning

  • Base salary: £29,047 per annum (DOE)
  • Sleep-in payments: £63 per night (average 1 per week)
  • Total average salary: £32,323 per annum

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have,

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in residential childcare
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic models (e.g., PACE, POP)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • UK driving licence
  • Clear DBS and positive references
  • Must be 21+ due to registration requirements
