The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be supporting a beautiful private estate near Chipping Norton in the search for an experienced and knowledgeable part-time Gardener to join their long-standing and dedicated team.

Set within 12 acres, the gardens are a wonderful mix of formal and productive areas, including a kitchen garden, potting shed, compost area, mixed borders, a water garden, pond and lake, wildflower meadows, fruit trees, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day maintenance of the gardens across the estate
  • Mowing lawns and managing edges to a high standard
  • Trimming and shaping hedges, shrubs, and small trees
  • Regular weeding and mulching of borders and beds
  • Planting and maintaining a variety of flowers, shrubs, and seasonal displays
  • Assisting with the care of the productive kitchen garden, including fruit and vegetable planting and harvesting
  • Supporting the upkeep of the potting shed, compost area, and wildflower areas
  • Helping to maintain the water garden, lake, and pond
  • Contributing to the general upkeep and presentation of the grounds throughout the seasons

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous gardening experience within a private estate
  • Strong plant knowledge and practical gardening skills
  • A horticultural qualification would be an advantage, but not essential
  • A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach
