Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate with plenty of initiative to support students within an alternative provision in Chorley.
You will be working with the young people who are supported by the provision, and there will be elements of ADHD, ASD, emotional regulation difficulties and ACEs.
Relationship building with these students is very important, this role will require time and patience.

Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
These students are disengaged with mainstream education and often struggle within school settings.
You must be comfortable with challenging behaviour.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:


Individualised Support: Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities.
Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
Collaborate with Staff: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.

Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience working with students who have additional needs is advantageous.
Empathy: Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide professional references covering 2 years
